The farmhouse of La Conche is situated in the beautiful Lot region of S.W. France, three minutes walk from the village of Lacave and the Dordogne River.

The lush Dordogne valley is dotted with medieval villages, castles and monasteries, mostly dating from the time of the Hundred Years War between England and France ( 1336 -1431 ).

Above the river flora and fauna abound on the wild untouched upland areas of the Causse de Gramat national park, home to deer, wild boar, and buzzards. There is an eagle sanctuary at Rocamadour, a few miles south, where the birds can be observed close to from paths along the valley sides.

Walking itineries are flexible with long or short routes to suit all tastes and we can drop-off or pick-up as needed.

Walk the Dordogne downstream to Souillac market or upstream to the mediaeval villages of Creysse and Martel via the veiwpoint of Mont Mercou.
Follow the tranquil Vallée de l’Ouysse with it’s working 12th century fortified mill to the famous monastery town of Rocamadour.
